Mumbai got another Bandra-Versova second sea-link, budget cost is 7500 crore
Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has given administrative clearance for the Versova-Bandra sea link (VBSL) project on Monday, the state cabinet committee (SCCI) on infrastructure has approved it after eight years. SCI approved this project on August 18, 2009. After this, however, the government got four years to get the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) and environmental clearance from the center which was received in January 2013. GR said that the government has approved the design plan at a height of 900 meters from the beach.
The bridges around the four lane of VBSL are 9.60 kilometers. The cable-based bridge will be 0.30 kilometers long and the balance cantilever bridge is 0.10 km long. It will be connected to VBSL Bandra, Otter Club, Juhu Link Road and Versova Link Road. There will be toll plaza in Bandra, Carter Road, Juhu-Koliwada and Nana-Nani Park.
Current prevailing toll rates will be applicable to VBSL and the concession period will be up to 2052. If there is any change in the toll tax policy in the future, the concession period will be re-charged as per the toll tax policy. Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) will appoint two different contractors for toll collection and maintenance and maintenance of VBSL. The Government has also approved MSRDC to set up a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to increase the loan.
