Whatsapp updates: Now transfer and pay money to your friends using whatsapp
WhatsApp is going to join the queue of companies that provide the convenience of payment to their users. According to recent reports, Chat based platform is going to launch a new feature which will allow WattsAP users to transfer funds within the app. The company has been working on this feature for the last few months. This new feature of WhatsApp can be launched in the next few months.
Payment option will be launched in India first:
WhatsApp can launch your payment option first in India. This is because of its large base in India.
The new feature can be named WhatsApp Pay
At the moment, this is in the final testing phase.
Media reports have revealed that the company owned by Facebook has tied up with SBI, ICICI and HDFC as the bank partner of this feature.
Rupees Symbol under Attachment Option
Under this feature, WhatsApp will look under the attachment option in Chat Rupees Symbol. Users will be able to transfer funds through a simple one step process using this. It only needs to enter the amount to be transferred and the UPI PIN.
Users will not have to exit from the chat screen to make payments. Some similar ideas were adopted by Wechat, the Chinese competitor of WhatsApp. Wechat launched a payment option for its users and since then it has become a major player in the payments market.
If WhatsAap launches this feature successfully, then it can give tough competition to other current players including PettyMobile, Mobikwik in India.
